Hit the road 8:30 am, March 12, heading south, Funfinder X in tow, destination Hunting Island SC. I95 closed in NY, new meaning to slow. First stop a Flying J truck stop in Carlisle PA. Pretty nice of the FJ folks to let us stay, even seperate parking for RV's. Denny's right there with Senior Citizen special, good price and nice texture, no teeth req'd. Soothing hum of the semis on I 81 to sleep by.
Second night in a little jewel of a staate park in NC. Medoc Mountain SP, 10 miles off 95. Mountain really a ridge 375' above sea level, but, pretty high for coastal NC. Lots of cotton fields and farms.
Nice selection of sex shops along 95 selling adult toys. Didn't bother stopping since we were born with same.
Hunting island a barrier island 14 miles from Beaufort SC. Sugar sand beach backed up by a maritime forest. There is a nature center for talks, 1st one on reptiles, think we'll stick to paved bike paths. Lots of animals, deer, racoons, vultures, alligators and a dead copperhead.
Visited Bill and Ann B at Habersham. Highlight was Bill letting Jean drive his golfcart around town. Jean has now purchased goggles and a helmut and is shopping for a souped up cart.
Funfinder 15'6" x 6' 10" inside.
